শিক্ষার্থী বন্ধুরা, আজ আমি তোমাদের সাথে Transformation of Sentences সম্পর্কে আলোচনা করব।

Transformation of Sentences:

এপর্যায়ে আমরা ধারাবাহিকভাবে কয়েকটি পর্বে Transformation of Sentences নিয়ে আলোচনা করব এবং তোমরা তা অনুসরণ করলেই খুব সহজে এই অধ্যায় সুন্দরভাবে রপ্ত করতে পারবে। এপর্বে আমরা কীভাবে Affirmative Sentence-কে Negative Sentence-এ রূপান্তর করতে পারবে সে বিষয়ে শিখব।

Affirmative to Negative:

Rule 1: Only বা alone- যুক্ত Sentence-কে শুধু Only ’বা‘ alone’-এর পরিবর্তে None but, Nothing but, not more than বা not less than বসিয়ে Negative Sentence-এ রূপান্তর করতে হয়। Only বা alone- দ্বারা যদি Allah/God বা কোনো ব্যক্তি বোঝায়, তাহলে None but, বস্তু বোঝালে Nothing but আর যদি সংখ্যা বোঝায়,তাহলে not more than বা not less than বসিয়ে Negative Sentence-এ রূপান্তর করতে হয়। নিচের উদাহরণগুলো লক্ষ করলে অবশ্যই বোঝতে পারবে।

Affirmative: Only he can do the work.

Negative: None but he can do the work.

Affirmative:A child likes only sweets.

Negative: A child likes nothing but sweets.

Affirmative: Samiha is only five.

Negative: Samiha is not more than five. Or, Samiha is not less than five.

Rule 2: Affirmative sentence-এ must থাকলে Negative করার সময় must-এর পরিবর্তে cannot but বা cannot help বসাতে হয়। তবে cannot help- এর পরে যে verb থাকে,তার সাথে ing যুক্ত করতে হয়।

Affirmative: We must obey our parents.

Negative: We cannot but obey our parents. Or, We cannot help obeying our parents.
