Lesson Five: Leisure Time সুপ্রিয় শিক্ষার্থীরা, আজ আমরা Lesson Five এর Leisure Time বিষয়ে আলোচনা করবো। প্রথমেই এর গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শব্দের অর্থসহ বাক্যরচনা শিখবো এবং এর পরে ব্যাকরণ বিষয়ে আলোকপাত করবো । চলো শুরু করা যাক। Activity (কাজ): Nashid likes the activity of Shahed. Dialogue (সংলাপ): Alvi wrote a very good dialogue. Excuse (অনুগ্রহ করে শুনা): Excuse me, would you please tell me the time? Problem (সমস্যা): Mirsub does not have any problem now. Leisure (অবসর সময়): In the leisure time shahed goes for walk. Usually (সাধারণত): Usually, Shahed likes to swim in the river. Keep (রাখা): We should keep our body fit. Fit (মানানসই): Ratul goes for walk everyday to keep his body fit. Too (আরো): Nasreen loves to sing too. Interview (সাক্ষাত্কার): He faced an interview for the job. Interviewer (সাক্ষাত্কার গ্রহণকারী): The interviewer asked Nasreen some questions. Spend (কাটানো / ব্যয় করা): Shahed spends his time by learning his lesson properly. Draw (অঙ্কন করা): Zarif can draw nicely. Paint (ছবি আকা): Nasif painted his dress. Sing (গান গাওয়া): Sharno can sing well. Practice (অনুশীলন): Practice makes a man perfect. Parctise (অনুশীলন করা): We should practise speaking English. Travel (ভ্রমন করা): Farabi likes to travel very much. Cue (সুত্র): He filled up the lines following the cue. Fill(পূরণ করা): We should fill the desire of our parents. Snacks (হাল্কা নাস্তা): Sometimes he spends his leisure time by eating snacks. Pleasure (আনন্দ): It is pleasure to meet you. Lend (ধার দেওয়া): Could I lend you my umbrella? Remember (মনে করা): He will remember his first day at school. Polite (ভদ্র): Everybody likes a polite boy. Grammar Corner: সুপ্রিয় শিক্ষার্থী Lesson Five এর গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দুটি ব্যাকরণ হলো Would / Could এর ব্যবহার এবং Interrogative Sentence. চলো শিখে নেওয়া যাক। নম্রভাবে কোন কিছু জানতে বা বিনয় সহকারে কোন অনুরোধ প্রকাশ করার জন্য would /could ব্যবহার করা হয়। যেমন: a. Would you please answer some questions? b. Could you please tell me your name? c. Would you please lend me your pen? d. Could you shut the door, please? e. Could I help to carry the bag? Can/ Will versus Could/ Would: অপেক্ষাকৃত বেশি ভদ্রতা প্রকাশ করার জন্য Will এর স্থানে Would এবং Can এর স্থানে Could ব্যবহূত হয়। যেমন: Can/ Will Could/Would Will you help me doing my homework? Can you close the door? Would I remind you the time please? Could I send you an email? 2. Interrogative Sentence: যে Sentence দ্বারা কোন প্রশ্ন করা বুঝায় Interrogative Sentence তাকে বলে। যেমন: a. Does he go to school everyday? b. Is he a doctor? c. Where do live? d. Can I ask you some questions? e. What is your name? f. How do you spend your leisure time? g. Would you please tell me your name? Structure-1: Can/could/ will/ would/ may/ might/ must/ shall/should/ do/ does/ did+ subject+ present form of verb+ object/ extension+? a. Do you complete your homework everyday? b. May I help you to show the way? Structure-2: Wh-questions/ auxiliary verb+ subject+ present form of verb+ object/ extension+? a. How do you spend your leisure time? b. What do you want to know? c. What is your name? (Wh-questions: who, which, what, when, where, why, whom, whose, how, etc) Tense in lesson five: Leisure Time এ Present Indefinite Tense: ব্যবহূত হয়েছে। Lesson five এ ব্যবহূত Tenseটি বুঝবার জন্য পূর্বের Lesson টি আরেকবার আবারো উদাহরণ দেওয়া হলো। a. I spend my leisure time gardening. b. Swimming keeps us fit. c. Shahed is a student of Class five. d. What do you want? e. May I ask you some questions?
