6. Change the narrative style of the following text.  

“Why are you looking so happy?” Dipa said to Rupali. “My brother sent a mobile phone for me yesterday,” replied Rupali. “But what’s the use of it to you? I think it is a mere wastage of money,” said Dipa. “No, I can communicate with others in the shortest possible time,” said Rupali.

6. Answer: Dipa asked Rupali why she was looking so happy. Rupali replied that her brother had sent a mobile phone for her the previous day. Then Dipa asked Rupali what the use of it was to her (R). She also added that she thought it was a mere wastage of money. Rupali replied in the negative and said that she could communicate with others in the shortest possible time.

7. Change the narrative style of the following text.  

Mrs. Nasima said to her student, “I heard the news of your illness yesterday. How are you now”? “I feel a bit well today, madam,’. replied the student. “Don’t worry. You will come round soon,’ said Mrs. Nasima.

7. Answer: Mrs. Nasima told her student that she had heard the news of his/her illness the previous day. She also asked the student how he/she was then. Addressing the teacher as madam the student replied that he/she felt a bit well that day/ Mrs. Nasima advised the student not to be worried and she also expected that he/she would come round

8. Change the narrative style of the following text.  

Rosamond said to her mother, “What is it, Mum? I didn’t want this black thing and the terrible smell.” Mother said, “I don’t know my dear.” Rosamond again said to her mother, “But what shall I do with it?” Mother said, “I can’t tell.” “Okay, Mum, I must pour it out and fill the jar with fresh water.”

8. Answer: Rosamond addressed her mother as Mum and asked her what it was. She again told that she had not wanted that black thing and the terrible smell. Next mother addressed her (R) as dear and said that she didn’t know. Later Rosamond again asked her mother what she would do with it. Then mother told that she could not tell. Lastly Rosamond said to her mother okay and further said that she had to pour it out and fill the jar with fresh water.
