Paragraph Writing (অনুচ্ছেদ লিখন)

Paragraph এর বাংলা প্রতিশব্দ অনুচ্ছেদ। কোনো একটি বিষয় সম্বন্ধে লিখা যুক্তিযুক্তভাবে সাজানো পরস্পর সম্পর্কযুক্ত কয়েকটি বাক্যের সমষ্টিকে অনুচ্ছেদ বলে। (A paragraph is a group of related sentences dealing with a single idea). Paragraph বিভিন্ন প্রকার হতে পারে (Paragraph may be of different types). The most common types are as follows:

i. Descriptrive Paragraphs,

ii. Narrative Paragraphs,

iii. Expository Paragraphs,

iv. Argumentative Paragraphs,

v. Persuasive Paragraphs,

vi. Listing Paragraphs,

vii. Compare and Contrast Paragraphs,

viii. Cause and Effect Paragraphs,

ix. Classification Paragraphs and

X. Example Paragraphs.

Covid-19 এর কারণে এইচএসসি, পরীক্ষার্থী:২০২১  English Second Paper New Syllabus-এর ১২ নম্বর প্রশ্নে  এক নতুন  Paragraph Writing সংযুক্ত করা হয়েছে যা Compare and Contrast Paragraph/ Cause and Effect Paragraph নামে পরিচিত।

•Compare and Contrast Paragraph কী?

Compare and Contrast Paragraph এমন এক শ্রেণির  Paragraph যেখানে দুইটি ব্যক্তি/ বস্তু/ স্থান/ ধারণা/ অবস্থার সাদৃশ্য ও বৈসাদৃশ্য তুলে ধরা হয় (A Compare and Contrast Paragraph is one that shows similarities and dissimilarities between the two persons, places, things, ideas, or  situations) .

City Life and Village Life

Paragraph: City life refers to the urban lifestyles and village life refers to the rural lifestyles. Now-a-days people live in both cities and villages. But life in both cities and villages has its own plus points and problems. One is quite different from the other. If we compare city life with village life, we will find some similarities and dissimilarities both merits and demerits. Now let us make a comparison between city life and village life. City life is furnished with modern facilities. City provides fast and dynamic life. Schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, shopping malls, zoo, parks and clubs are available. Here, people are always busy and running after money, power and social status. They are leading comfortable life under the power of air-conditioner. Similarly, village life is quite peaceful and charming. It has some natural sights and eye-catching sceneries. A village goes with green fields, woods, ponds etc. Here, people enjoy fresh air, fresh food, and pollution free environment. Village people are usually farmers. They are friendly, helpful and generous. But in some respects, city life is different from village life. In fact, city life holds fashion whereas village life holds tradition. In a city life is very busy and competitive. Even one neighbour does not know the other neighbour. On the other hand, the life in village is very easy and simple. The village people maintain close tie with their relatives and neighbours. In education as well as in medication city life is more advanced than village life.  More educational institutions in a city provide standard education and more hospitals serve better medication. But a village lacks these options. In a city people are educated, formal and maintain sanitation. Conversely, in a village most of the people are uneducated and unaware of sanitation. Environmentally, a city is more polluted and overcrowded than a village. Buses, trucks, cars, mills, factories always emit smoke and make sound. So, air pollution, water pollution and sound pollution occur in a city. In contrast, a village is free from such types of pollutions. In the field of trade and commerce, a city offers an ample scope for easier earning and employment than that of a village. Hence, the city dwellers lead a life of luxury. They always recreate themselves by visiting clubs, party and function. On the contrary, the life of villagers is full of sorrows and sufferings. If we talk about games and sports, we will find that city life surpasses village life. However, the discussion shows some differences between city life and village life. Despite differences, both city and village are important for living. If the villagers do not grow crops, the city dwellers will starve. Even the city dwellers construct high buildings with the row materials provided by the villagers. Though city life is different from village life, one is alternative to another. It is just the two sides of a coin. In fine, we can say that city life is interconnected with village life.
