Simple: On account of her illness, she could not go there. Complex: Since she was ill, she could not go there. Compound: She was ill, so she could not go there. উদাহরণ বিশ্লেষণঃ Simple, complex ও compound sentence-এর ক্ষেত্রে ‘she could not go there’ এই clause- টি একেবারেই অপরিবর্তিত রয়েছে। Simple থেকে complex ও compound করার সময় simple sentence-এর ‘on account of her illness’ এই phrase-টি পরিবর্তিত হয়ে complex sentence-এ ‘since she was ill’ এই dependent clause-এ পরিণত হয়েছে এবং compound sentence-এ গিয়ে তা ‘she was ill’ এই independent clause-এ পরিণত হয়েছে। Simple, Complex ও Compound Sentence রূপান্তরের ক্ষেত্রে করণীয়ঃ Simple sentence-এর phrase-টিকে পরিবর্তন করে complex sentence-এর জন্য dependent clause বানাতে হয় এবং compound sentence-এর জন্য co-ordinate clause কিংবা independent clause বানাতে হয়। নিম্নের চিত্রে বাক্য রূপান্তরের প্রক্রিয়াটি সুস্পষ্টভাবে ফুটে উঠেছেঃ
