সুপ্রিয় শিক্ষার্থী বন্ধুরা, আজ তোমাদের সাথে ষষ্ঠ থেকে দশম শ্রেণির English grammar এর একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় Mood নিয়ে আলোচনা করবো।
Mood
Mood হচ্ছে একজন বক্তার অনুভূতি। Mood সাধারণত একজন বক্তা বা লেখকের চিন্তাও অনুভূতি প্রকাশ করে। একজন লেখক বা বক্তা কীভাবে তার আচরণগুলো বলছেন বা লিখছেন সেটা প্রকাশ করে। এটি verb এর বিভিন্ন form গুলোকে কীভাবে বাক্যে ব্যবহার করা হবে সেই সম্পর্কে ধারণা প্রদান করে।
4. The Subjunctive Mood (সংযোজকভাব):
A subjunctive mood is a form of a verb that is used to show hope, desire, wish, doubt or an imaginary function. Subjunctive Mood, verb এর কয়েকটি ব্যতিক্রমধর্মী form কে নির্দেশ করে যা বক্তার ইচ্ছা, আকাঙ্খা, সন্দেহ বা কাল্পনিক অনুভূতি প্রকাশ করে। Subjunctive Mood এর ক্ষেত্রে subject-verb agreement এর rules কে মাঝে মাঝে অগ্রাহ্য করা হয়।
Example: He is suggested that he walk till evening. [Base form of the verb without s, es, ies (while the subject is the third person singular number) is used when we use subjunctive mood] May you be happy in your upcoming life. He acts as if he were an actor.
5. The Conditional Mood (শর্তসূচকভাব):
The Conditional Mood is used to express a condition. It shows under what conditions something might happen. It uses the helping verbs could, might, would, etc.
Conditional mood সাধারণত শর্তসূচক বা verb এর ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার করা হয়। কোন শর্তে কোন কাজ ঘটবে তা বোঝায়। এই mood সাধারণত auxiliary verb গুলোর বিভিন্ন form ব্যবহার করে। Can, could, could have, will, would, would have, এবং were —- auxiliary verb হিসেবে ব্যবহূত হয় এই mood এর ক্ষেত্রে।
Example: I might be able to do the assignment If I come to the university earlier. I would like to share my meal with you. Could you give me your book for two days?
