প্রিয় শিক্ষার্থী বন্ধুরা, আজ তোমাদের সাথে ইংরেজি ‘grammar’এর Passage Narration নিয়ে আলোচনা করবো। প্রথমে নিজেরা চেষ্টা করবে, পরে সঠিক উত্তর মিলিয়ে নিবে ।
1.Direct Speech: 'My sons listen to me. A great treasure lies hidden in the land. I am going to leave you.' 'How'll we find it?' said the sons. 'You must dig the land for it,'
Indirect: Addressing them as his sons the old man told them to listen to him and added that a Great treasure lay hidden in the land and further added that he was going to leave it to them. Then the sons asked him how they would find that. The old man replied that they had to dig the land for it.
2.Direct speech: Father said to his son, 'Why are you making late? Go to school now. 'No, I am not going to school today. I feel dizzy', said his son.
Indirect: Father asked his son why he was making late and further told him to go to school then. His son replied in the negative and told him that he was not going to school that day and added that he felt dizzy.
3.Direct Speech: "Why did you not go to school yesterday?" Said the mother to the girl. "I was ill, Mum," the girl replied. "How are you today?" the mother asked again. " Well," said the girl. "Don't worry for me."
Indirect: The mother asked the girl why she had not gone to school the previous day. Addressing her as mum she told her mother that she was ill. Then the mother asked her how she was that day. After that the girl said to her that she was well and told her not to worry for her.
4. Direct Speech: "Have you killed the rats?" said the Mayor. Yes, I have." said the piper." Give me the promised money." How funny! said the Mayor. "We cannot give you so much money. Take only fifty."
Indirect: The Mayor asked the piper if he had killed the rats. The piper replied in the affirmative and said that he had done so. Then he told the Mayor to give him the promised money. The Mayor exclaimed with surprise that it was very funny and added that they could not give him so much money and further told him to take only fifty.
