সুপ্রিয় শিক্ষার্থী বন্ধুরা, গত সংখ্যায় Sentence Connector এর গুরুত্ব এবং ব্যবহার নিয়ে আলোচনা করেছি। আজ তার বাকী অংশ নিয়ে আলোচনা করছি।
Sentence Connector

5. পূর্বে যা যা বলা হয়েছে তার, যার কথা বলতে আমরা Altogether/On the whole, Overall, Therefore, In all, In short , In conclusion ইত্যাদি Sentence Connector ব্যবহার করি।
Example:i) The salary is low and the office is too far away. Altogether/On the whole (মোটের ওপর ), it is
not a satisfactory job.
ii) He is lazy, he is ignorant and he is stupid. In short, he is useless.
6. পূর্বে উল্লিখিত কাজের যৌক্তিক ফলাফল বলার জন্য Accordingly, So, Therefore, As a result, of course ইত্যাদি Sentence Connector ব্যবহার করি।
Example:i) We are polluting the environment. As a consequence/As a result (ফলে) climate is changing.
ii) She arrived late, gave answers in an offhand manner. Of course (অবশ্যই), She displeased the interviewing panel.
7. যা পূর্বে বলা/ করা হয়েছে তার ওপর গুরুত্ব না দিয়ে বরং এখন যা বলা /করা হচ্ছে তার ওপর গুরুত্ব দেওয়ার জন্য Anyhow, At any rate. In any case ইত্যাদি Sentence Connector ব্যবহার করা হয়।
Example: i) I am not sure what time will arrive may be seven or eight. In any case, (যেমন করে হোক) I will be
certainly there before eight thirty.
ii) I knew it would be a sad movie. Any way (যা হোক), I went there.
8. বিপরীতধর্মী দুটি বক্তব্য লেখার জন্য Whereas, While, On the other hand ইত্যাদি Sentence Connector ব্যবহূত হয়।
Example:i) Some people praise him. Whereas (পক্ষান্তরে) others call him cheat.
ii) I drink black coffee. While (পক্ষান্তরে) he prefers it with cream.
9. বক্তা যা বলেছেন সে ব্যাপারে বক্তার মনের জোর প্রকাশ করতে Honestly, Frankly, No doubt ইত্যাদি Sentence Connector
ব্যবহূত হয়।
Example: i) Honestly (সত্যি বলতে) that’s all the money I have got!
ii) No doubt (নিঃসন্দেহে) he means to help.
10. কতটুকু ঠিক বলে বক্তা মনে করেন তা বোঝাতে On the whole. In general, In all, Some cases, Broadly speaking ইত্যাদি
Sentence Connector ব্যবহূত হয়।
Example: i) Broadly speaking (সাধারণ ভাবে বলতে গেলে) women are less strong than men are.
ii) On the whole (মোটের ওপর): On the whole, I had a happy childhood.
11. পূর্ববর্তী বাক্যের সাথে সময়ের সম্পর্ক দেখানোর জন্য After a while, At that time, Meanwhile, Last, Previously,Finally, Formerly, Once upon a time, Shortly ইত্যাদি Sentence Connector ব্যবহূত হয়।
Example: i) I saw him entering the room. At that time (্ঐ সময়ে) I was playing in the field.
ii) I searched for the man everywhere. At Last (অবশেষে)I found him on the room.
12. পূর্ববর্তী বক্তব্যের সাথে সরাসরি সম্পৃক্ত নয় এমন বক্তব্যের অবতারণা করার জন্য By the way, Incidentally Connector গুলো
ব্যবহূত হয়।
Example: i) it’s a lovely sunset. By the way (ভালো কথা), what happened to that bike I lent you?
