COMPLETING SENTENCE
গতকালের পর
সুপ্রিয় শিক্ষার্থীরা বন্ধুরা, আজ তোমাদের জন্য English Grammar এর Completing Sentence নিয়ে আলোচনা করা হলো।
Rule-3: Too ———-to (এতই——— যে ——— না) Too ———-to দ্বারা incomplete sentence কে complete করার নিয়মঃ Incomplete sentence এ adjective/ adverb এর পূর্বে too থাকলে উক্ত incomplete sentence টিকে complete করার জন্য to + সংগতিপূর্ণ verb + অর্থপূর্ণ শব্দ বা শব্দসমষ্টি বসাতে হবে।
Structure: Sub + verb + too + adjective / adverb + to + সংগতিপূর্ণ verb + extension. উদাহরণঃ
Incomplete: The man is too old ————-
Complete: The man is too old to work.
Incomplete: He is too dishonest ————
Complete: He is too dishonest to speak the truth.
Incomplete: You are too short —————-
Complete: You are too short to touch the roof.
Incomplete: The girl was too silly ——————
Complete: The girl was too silly to understand any simple matter.
Too ———- for ———————- to এর ব্যবহার:
Incomplete sentence এর too + adjective /adverb এর পর for থাকলে তার পর + personal object (me, us, you, them, him, her ও কোন নাম) + তার পর to + সংগতিপূর্ণ verb + অর্থপূর্ণ শব্দ বা শব্দসমষ্টি বসাতে হবে।
Structure: sub + verb + too + adjective /adverb + for + personal object + to + verb + extension. উদাহরণঃ
Incomplete: The load is too heavy for me ————-
Complete: The load is too heavy for me to carry.
Incomplete: The problem was too hard for them ——————
Complete: The problem was too hard for them to solve.
Incomplete: It is too interesting a matter for us ————————
Complete: It is too interesting a matter for us to overlook.
Rule-4: Complex sentence এর Main clause টি যদি ‘subject + Verb + so + adjective’ এরূপ structure অনুযায়ী গঠিত হয়, সেক্ষেত্রে that যোগে গঠিত পরবর্তী clause এর verb এর পূর্বে main Clause এর verb এবং tense অনুযায়ী may/maynot, can/cannot অথবা could/could not, might /might not ব্যবহূত হয়। যেমনঃ
Incomplete: I am so weak ————-
Complete: I am so weak that I cannot walk.
Incomplete: He was so weak ————-
Complete: He was so weak that he could not walk.
Incomplete: Maria is so dull ————
Complete: Maria is so dull that she cannot understand it.
Rule-5: So much/ so many ————— that ( এত বেশি————যে)
Subordinate clause এ ‘So much/ so many —————— that’ থাকলে Subordinate clause এর ফলাফল principal clause এ লিখতে হবে।
Structure: Sub + verb + so + many/much + noun + that + subject + can /could + verb + extension. উদাহরণঃ.
Incomplete: You have so much intelligence ———————-
Complete: You have so much intelligence that you can get a job.
Incomplete: I have not so much time ——————-
Complete: I have not so much time that I can accompany you all day.
Incomplete: You have so much money ———————
Complete: You have so much money that you can buy a private car.
Incomplete: There are so many problems —————-
Complete: There are so many problems that I cannot solve them.
Incomplete: There are so many stars in the sky ——————-
Complete: There are so many stars in the sky that we cannot count them.
Incomplete: They plucked so many flowers ———————————-
Complete: They plucked so many flowers that the garden became empty.
Incomplete: He keeps so many soldiers ———————-
Complete: He keeps so many soldiers that he can easily attack any country.
